Eric Andreae grew up in Zurich, Switzerland. At the age of 15 he lived for one year in Southern California (USA).
When he was 16 Eric started working for the television show VideoGang—which was 25 minutes, aired weekly on the Swiss private tv station, Tele 24 / Tele Züri, and entirely produced by teenagers. After finishing high school and working for three years as a production assistant and location manager on film and tv productions in Zurich and Munich, he began his studies in film directing in 2004 at the Zurich University of the Arts.
Eric was responsible for the dramaturgy in the documentary film CHRIGU which premiered at the International Filmfestival of Berlin (Berlinale) in 2007 and was screened in Swiss cinemas and at numerous festivals all over the world. Shortly after graduating with his thesis short film KENAN, Eric realized his latest short film AFTER NOW as a member of the film collective Arsonfilm.
Currently he is working as a freelance director for commercials. Also, since fall 2010, he has been working as an part time artistic assistient at the Zurich University of the Arts for the department Cast / Audio-Visual Media, which focuses on audiovisual content for non-linear distribution.
In July 2013 Eric finished the Drehbuchwerkstatt München / Zürich, which is a screenplay development scholership program, in which the participants meet every two months at the munich school of film and television to attend seminars and to develop a feature length screenplay.
